Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway
Project
At Package XL-18 (Km 5+260 – Km 6+200), the construction progress is clearly differentiated between two main items: roadbed and viaduct structure. Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway Project is facing the biggest challenge from prolonged rains. Roadbed: Mud slows down K98 In many areas of Package XL-18, the muddy and soggy ground after the rain has caused the roadbed construction to be halted, and many heavy machinery such as bulldozers, dump trucks, and road rollers have had to stay idle. This directly affects the core technical standards of the expressway: Rough volume (K95) reached 60%: The roadbed earthwork work to achieve basic density K95 has completed 60% of the volume, showing that the project has created the basic route shape. K98 bottleneck only reached 12%: The volume of earth filling reaching K98 density (high standard, applied to load-bearing foundation layer) only reached 12%. To achieve 98% density, the contractor must control the soil moisture in optimal conditions, which is almost impossible when the construction site is submerged in mud. The Director of the Trungnam E&C Executive Board (currently constructing package 18) said: “The soil cannot be filled. We still let our workers focus on the bridge part, but the persistent rain has slowed down the work. Focus on installing overpass girders Faced with the difficulties of the roadbed, the Joint Contractors of Package XL-18 proactively pivoted, focusing resources on the construction of the bridge section, which is less affected by flooding. Completion of Abutments: The construction units have completed the entire body and cap beam of the abutments. This superstructure is a solid foundation, given priority to ensure the uniformity of the project. Offset Production by Bridge Girders: The work of installing viaduct girders is being accelerated, having completed the installation of 9 out of 42 girder slabs, reaching
Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Inauguration Ceremony
News - Events
On the morning of August 19, 2025, the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Inauguration Ceremony successfully took place. This vital project, spanning the Tien River and connecting Dong Thap and Vinh Long provinces, marks not only a historical milestone for the transportation sector but also symbolizes the resilience, intellect, and internal strength of Vietnamese construction enterprises. I. A Historic Inauguration Ceremony and Timeless Imprint It was a meaningful day as the entire country celebrated the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and prepared to welcome National Day on September 2nd (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025). The event was attended by high-ranking leaders such as Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, former National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, along with leaders from the Ministry of Construction and relevant localities. The completion and inauguration of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, approximately 5 months ahead of the initial schedule, is a proud achievement. This is a clear testament to the self-reliance of Vietnam’s construction industry, as domestic units have mastered the entire process of design, construction, and equipment manufacturing for a large-scale cable-stayed bridge project. II. Rach Mieu 2 Bridge: A New Lifeline for Dong Thap and Vinh Long Rach Mieu 2 Bridge and its approach roads have a total length of 17.6 km, with a total investment of 6,810 billion VND from the state budget. The main bridge section is 1.97 km long, designed as a cable-stayed bridge with 112 cable bundles and two main towers reaching 116.5 m high. The main span is 270m long, the bridge deck is 21.5 m wide, with 4 mixed-use lanes and a clear height of 37.5 m, ensuring convenient traffic for both road and waterway across the Tien River branch. Strategic Significance and Impact: Relieving traffic congestion: Rach Mieu 2 Bridge will help to more effectively
Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Progress
Project
“The progress of the Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang Expressway is accelerating, with Trungnam E&C achieving a breakthrough 39% completion, finishing the girder installation of Xang Lai Hieu Bridge, overcoming the ‘sand shortage’ to bring the project to fruition on schedule.” I. Project Overview The Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang Expressway (Phase 1) project is a strategic expressway connecting the Mekong Delta. Upon completion, it will reduce transportation time, boost logistics, and promote regional economic development. In the Hau Giang section, Trungnam E&C is undertaking many key construction items — the overall package progress in Hau Giang reached 39% as of August 2025. Total length: 188.2 km, passing through 4 provinces and cities: An Giang, Can Tho, Hau Giang, and Soc Trang. Scale: 4 lanes, design speed 100 km/h. Total investment: 44,700 billion VND. Commencement date: November 2023. Completion target: Expected to complete the entire route in 2026 and put into synchronous operation in 2027. The project is divided into 4 independent sub-projects, each managed by a local authority, ensuring coordination and specialization in implementation. II. Rapid Progress of Bridge Construction Items. Trungnam E&C is the leading contractor in the joint venture constructing Package No. 02 (section from Km113+200 – Km131+082) and Package No. 09 (section from Km131+300 – Km144+500) belonging to Sub-projects 3 and 4. With the spirit of “overcoming sun, winning rain” of the Trungnam E&C team, the work continues to blaze on the construction site. Main construction items of Trungnam E&C: Road section: Excavation of unsuitable soil. Sand embankment for service roads/temporary roads/main route. Weak ground treatment: CDM (Cement Deep Mixing)/PVD (prefabricated vertical drains) combined with preloading. Box culvert construction. Bridge section: Xang Nang Mau Bridge (XNM): Currently constructing cross beams, deck slabs. Hoa My Bridge: Girder installation completed, currently constructing cross beams, deck slabs and bridge railings. Xang Lai Hieu Bridge: Girder installation completed, currently constructing cross
Xang Lai Hieu Bridge Girder Installation
Project
The Xang Lai Hieu Bridge, a key component of the Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang Expressway, is 500m long with a total investment of 160 billion VND. Girder installation is almost complete. I. Xang Lai Hieu Bridge: A “Breakthrough” Key Component on the Expressway 1. Location of Xang Lai Hieu Bridge The Xang Lai Hieu Bridge is being built at kilometer marker Km122+049.80 on the Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang Expressway. The bridge is 500m long with a total investment of 160 billion VND.   The timely completion of the Xang Lai Hieu Bridge will significantly contribute to effectively connecting key areas of Hau Giang province with neighboring provinces, facilitating trade, goods transportation, and promoting local socio-economic development. 2. Xang Lai Hieu Bridge Girder Installation (August 2025) Construction progress in August 2025 has shown Trungnam E&C’s high level of focus to meet the set objectives. Girder Installation: The installation of Xang Lai Hieu Bridge girders is being urgently carried out, with 63 out of 84 girders installed (each weighing 80 tons), completing 9 out of a total of 12 bridge spans, further affirming the breakthrough effort.   Crossbeam and Deck Slab Construction: In parallel with girder installation, Trungnam E&C is actively implementing the construction of crossbeams and deck slabs. These are important items to complete the superstructure, creating the road surface for vehicles.   T5, T6 Pier Cap Construction: The construction of T5 and T6 pier caps has been actively implemented, creating a solid foundation for girder installation. Other Items: In addition, roadbed construction, soft soil treatment using CDM piles and wick drains, and culvert construction are also being carried out in the Km120+200-Km122+580 area.   Quality Control: Trungnam E&C always prioritizes strict inspection and testing such as frequency testing of galvanized mesh thickness,
