The Provincial Road 8 Overpass project crossing the Ho Chi Minh City – Moc Bai Expressway has reached over 24% completion. Trungnam E&C is accelerating the construction of key work packages, ensuring quality, safety, and project schedule.
Construction Progress of Provincial Road 8 Overpass Reached Over 24% in July
The Provincial Road 8 Overpass project, spanning across the Ho Chi Minh City – Moc Bai Expressway, is being actively and vigorously executed by the Trungnam E&C – Quang Phuc Consortium to ensure structural quality, site safety, and execution schedule. To date, the overall construction volume of the project has surpassed 24%, marking significant progress in foundation works and substructure execution
By mobilizing manpower, heavy equipment, and implementing scientific construction management, the consortium maintains continuous execution along the entire alignment. Key work packages are being executed concurrently to shorten duration and optimize equipment efficiency.
Current critical path activities include: Bored pile foundation construction, Pile caps and pier column execution, Precast beam casting yard development and gantry crane installation, Embankment filling for frontage roads, Completion of temporary service roads for local traffic maintenance
Executing multiple work packages simultaneously not only safeguards the master schedule but also sets the stage for transitioning into superstructure construction in the upcoming phase

In July, Trungnam E&C completed 9 out of 23 bored piles, focusing on the foundation of Pier T04.
Bored piles serve as critical foundation elements that determine the overall load-bearing capacity and long-term structural stability of the bridge. The piling process requires strict quality control at every stage: setting out pile coordinates, drilling boreholes, applying bentonite slurry for borehole stabilization, cage lowering, and concrete placement to guarantee concrete integrity and shaft continuity.
In parallel with field operations, all technical parameters are strictly inspected per quality assurance and acceptance protocols. This ensures the foundation meets structural design criteria before advancing to subsequent structural elements, including pile cap and column construction for Pier T04. As these substructure units receive and transmit structural loads from the superstructure down to the foundation system, strict tolerance control, reinforcement placement, and concrete quality are prioritized. Adhering to standard technical procedures ensures structural capacity, durability, and service life throughout operational maintenance.
Additionally, Trungnam E&C has completed the precasting yard setup and gantry crane assembly. These specialized lifting systems facilitate hoisting, transporting, turning, and launching precast girders into position. Preparing equipment early enables immediate progression into superstructure erection upon pier completion, reducing idle time and streamlining overall progress.

Concurrent with main bridge structures, frontage road embankment filling has reached approximately 50% of total volume. The contractor is also expediting temporary access roads on both sides of the alignment to maintain uninterrupted traffic flow. Traffic management plans—including detours, signage, safety barriers, and traffic control—are deployed synchronously to minimize disturbance to local residents while ensuring safety for both public vehicles and site personnel.
Challenges and Obstacles
Right-of-way (ROW) clearance remains a primary factor impacting execution timelines for several work packages. Specifically, property compensation, support, and payout procedures for certain land parcels have not been fully finalized, preventing synchronized site handover as scheduled. Furthermore, administrative review and approval procedures by governing authorities must comply with statutory processes, meaning resolution timelines depend on case-by-case verification and formal approval.
Lack of site access at Pier T5 – Abutment M2 and section Km1+480 – Km1+752 hinders continuous construction of foundations and substructures, reducing efficiency in workforce deployment, machinery scheduling, and overall baseline planning.
Evaluation and Recommendations
Coordination among local authorities, the Land Clearance and Compensation Board, and the contractor remains active to resolve outstanding site constraints. To safeguard the overall project milestone, relevant authorities are urged to expedite file processing, execute compensation payouts, and encourage remaining households to hand over site access according to plan.
Role of Provincial Road 8 Overpass in the Regional Transport Network
The Provincial Road 8 Overpass represents a vital infrastructure project at the northwestern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, connecting directly with the HCMC – Moc Bai Expressway. Upon completion, this grade-separated interchange will significantly enhance traffic connectivity between Cu Chi District, Binh Duong, and Tay Ninh, eliminating at-grade intersections to mitigate traffic congestion and accident risks.

Trungnam E&C Commitment: Quality – Safety – Progress
Throughout execution, Trungnam E&C remains steadfast in adhering to core values: Quality – Safety – Progress. Every construction item undergoes rigorous quality control, from incoming material inspection and execution methods to technical testing, occupational safety, and environmental protection. On-site engineers and field crews closely monitor operations to dynamically manage resources and equipment.
Leveraging extensive experience from major national infrastructure projects such as Phuoc An Bridge and Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, Trungnam E&C continues to affirm its expertise in transportation engineering—striving to deliver projects on schedule, meet technical specifications, and build sustainable value for the community.
