Latest Construction Progress of Bình Gởi Bridge

Project

Bình Gởi Bridge project—a critical component of the Ring Road 3 project in Ho Chi Minh City passing through Bình Dương Province—is entering its final accelerated construction phase. The project has currently reached 91% of total completion volume, remaining on track to open to traffic and be inaugurated in Q2/2026 as directed by the Prime Minister.

Bình Gởi Bridge Progress Reaches 91% Construction Volume

Bình Gởi Bridge is not merely a transport infrastructure structure, but is also considered a vital arterial connector joining two of the most dynamic economic hubs: Bình Dương and Củ Chi (HCMC). Located between Km51+280 and Km52+580, this constitutes package XL4 under Component Project 5 of the HCMC Ring Road 3 project.

The investment in Bình Gởi Bridge plays a crucial role in completing the regional transport network. Once operational, the bridge will significantly alleviate traffic congestion on National Highway 13 and Phú Cường Bridge, shortening freight transit times from industrial zones in Bình Dương to Western provinces and vice versa. As of now, the physical profile of Bình Gởi Bridge has taken shape over the Sài Gòn River. The total construction volume for package XL4 has hit 91% of the contract value.

Bình Gởi Bridge is located from Km51+280 to Km52+580, representing package XL4 under Component Project 5 of the HCMC Ring Road 3 project.

Currently, the main line at both abutments M1 and M2 has achieved 100% completion of soft soil ground improvement works (using Cement Deep Mixing – CDM columns) and completed all Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) retaining walls.

  • Main Bridge Superstructure: The entire main span structure has been successfully joined (closure segment completed). The most technically complex reinforced concrete construction items are fully finished.

  • Bridge Deck Asphalt Paving: This represents the major highlight of current progress. The main bridge section has completed hot-mix asphalt (HMA) paving, satisfying all high-level expressway smoothness and technical specifications.

  • Approach Roads: Subgrade preparation, earthwork compaction, and embankment construction for the approach roads at both ends are being executed in sync, integrating smoothly with the overall infrastructure of the entire Ring Road 3 route.

This breakthrough demonstrates the outstanding project management and construction execution capability of the contractor, turning a key national project on paper into a physical structure advancing ahead of schedule.

Capability of General Contractor Trungnam E&C on Key Construction Sites

Trungnam E&C takes pride in being a leading general contractor in Vietnam’s infrastructure construction sector, having successfully delivered major landmark projects such as Rạch Miễu 2 Bridge, Mỹ Thuận 2 Bridge, and Phước An Bridge. Supported by a team of highly experienced engineers, we have overcome severe schedule pressures.

Adhering to the Prime Minister’s directives “Overcoming sun and rain,” “Quick meals, brief sleep,” and “Operating 3 shifts, 4 crews” the contractor consortium has maintained continuous construction operations through holidays and Lunar New Year. This effort has significantly compressed the schedule for package XL4 toward early completion, enabling synchronized connectivity along the entire Ring Road 3 alignment.

Target Completion and Inauguration in Q2/2026

Bình Gởi Bridge is scheduled for official inauguration in the second quarter of 2026. Commissioning the bridge at this exact juncture aligns perfectly with the completion timeline of adjacent packages along Ring Road 3, creating a closed-loop transport corridor surrounding Ho Chi Minh City.
