As of March 2026, the mega-project Phước An Bridge connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Đong Nai Province is witnessing rapid, continuous progress. Through non-stop day-and-night efforts, the contractor consortium of Trungnam E&C – Trung Chính has completed 8 stay cables at pier T38 and 7 stay cables at pier T37, progressing 7 months ahead of schedule and bringing the project into its crucial final phase toward main span closure.
Over 81% Work Volume Completed in March, 7 Months Ahead of Schedule
Phước An Bridge Project is undergoing its peak construction period. According to the latest work output report up to mid-March 2026:
-
Total Output Executed by Consortium: Reached VND 1,284.4 billion.
-
Overall Package Completion Rate: Reached 81.31%.
-
Construction Progress: Officially 7 months ahead of schedule compared to the contractual timeline.
Achieving a 7-month ahead-of-schedule milestone on a mega-project featuring highly complex technical structures is a rare record. It affirms the project management capabilities, equipment resources, and advanced technical execution standards of Vietnamese contractors.

8 Stay Cables Tensioned, Moving Toward Main Span Closure
Core technical items at main tower piers T37 and T38 are being deployed synchronously and with absolute precision:
-
Cable-Stayed System: To date, contractors have successfully installed and tensioned 8 stay cable strands at main tower pier T38. Engineers and workers of Trungnam E&C are urgently preparing to install stay cable No. 9 (S9) in the coming days.
-
Main Span Construction: Balanced cantilever segment casting is operating at maximum capacity using advanced formtraveler systems. Construction fronts from both main towers are rapidly approaching each other.
-
Auxiliary & Finishing Items: Parallel to main span development, contractors are expediting the construction of KT stub girders, preparing technical methodologies for main span closure, and finishing the parapet wall structures

Phước An Bridge: Economic Connector for the Southeast Region
Phước An Bridge (commenced in June 2023) has a total investment of nearly VND 4,900 billion, a total length of 4.38 km, and a scale of 6 lanes. The highlight of the project is its main span utilizing an extradosed cable-stayed bridge structure with a length of 250 m and a navigation clearance height of 55 m, ensuring safe passage for vessels with capacities up to 30,000 DWT on the Thị Vải River.
Upon completion, Phước An Bridge will play a strategic role:
-
Directly connecting the Cái Mép – Thị Vải port complex with the Bến Lức – Long Thành Expressway and the HCMC – Long Thành – Dầu Giây Expressway.
-
Shortening freight transportation routes by nearly 30 km from the Mekong Delta region and HCMC to deep-water ports, helping reduce logistics costs by 20–30%.
-
Relieving severe traffic congestion on the existing National Highway 51.
With current breakthrough construction progress, the seamless coordination of the Trungnam E&C – Trung Chính contractor consortium is turning the vision of opening the bridge to traffic ahead of schedule into reality, making a significant contribution to infrastructure and economic development across Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu, HCMC, Đồng Nai, and the Southern Key Economic Zone.
