The latest progress on Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot highway has reached nearly 80% construction output, with Trungnam E&C concentrating all efforts to complete the asphalt surface layer and install the lighting system at the Provincial Road 10 bridge section. Accelerating Towards 80% Progress at Package 03 In early December, the labor atmosphere at the high-speed highway construction site managed by Trungnam E&C is extremely urgent. Taking advantage of favorable weather conditions in November and December, all construction teams have operated at full capacity to accelerate progress. The appearance of the highway section (from km 101+500 to km 117+593) spanning over 16km is gradually becoming complete, marking an important transition from the foundation construction phase to the finishing phase. Completing the Road Surface and Organizing Traffic To ensure quality and aesthetic appeal for the project when put into operation, engineers and workers are focusing intensely on the final technical components: • Polymer C16 Asphalt Concrete Layer: This is the key item determining the smoothness and durability of the highway. Construction work is closely supervised to ensure strict compliance with technical requirements for temperature and compaction standards. • Traffic Safety System: In parallel with surfacing, numerous directional signs and guardrail systems are being installed comprehensively. These components not only create a “safe corridor” but also contribute to professional appearance for the entire contract package. Highlight at the Intersection (TL10) One of the notable components during November construction was the completion of the lighting system at this intersection area. Light poles and the electrical lighting system on the bridge are being rapidly installed and connected. When completed, this lighting system will ensure maximum visibility and safety for vehicles passing through the bridge area, while creating a modern landscape highlight for the project at night. Phuoc An Bridge’s Cable Stay No. 1 Tensioning September 4, 2025 – According to the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province Department of Transportation and Agricultural Projects Management Board and a consortium of contractors, the first cable stay tensioning ceremony for cable stay No. 1 took place at tower T38, part of package No. 39. I. Phuoc An Bridge – Connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai Province With a total investment of nearly 4.9 trillion VND, the Phuoc An Bridge project is a key transportation infrastructure project with strategic importance for the economic development of the Southern Key Economic Region. The bridge is designed to be approximately 4.3 km long with six lanes, spanning the Thi Vai River to connect Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai Province. Once completed, the Phuoc An Bridge will be crucial, directly connecting the Cai Mep – Thi Vai port system, one of the largest port clusters in the country, to the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway. This will significantly reduce the distance and time for freight transport, lower logistics costs, and promote the regional supply chain, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the entire Southern region. With a total investment of 4,879 billion VND, Phuoc An Bridge plays a crucial role in connecting the Cai Mep – Thi Vai international port system with key expressways and major industrial parks in Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, and Ba Ria – Vung Tau, contributing to enhancing the international competitiveness of Vietnam’s seaport system. I. Latest Construction Progress Update of Phuoc An Bridge The progress of Phuoc An Bridge is being actively implemented, with clear milestones across various packages. 1. Progress of Main Packages Package No. 38: Production value reached over 574 billion VND, equivalent to 59% of the contract value. Package No. 39 (Main cable-stayed bridge – constructed by Trungnam E&C): Trungnam E&C: Achieved cumulative production value of 547 billion VND, equivalent to 54.83% of its assigned contract value. Trung Chinh: Achieved cumulative production value of 422 billion VND, equivalent to 72.58% of its assigned contract value. Total joint venture production: Reached 969.484 billion VND, equivalent to 61.37% of the total contract value. Packages No. 40 and 41: Facing many difficulties due to obstacles in site clearance (GPMB) and a shortage of backfill materials. 2. Construction Milestones for Main Bridge Components (August 2025) Trungnam E&C is accelerating rapidly, as shown by important detailed progress: Pier T37: Completed construction of pier shaft segment D6 and is continuing with segment D7. Pier T38: Completed pouring block K8. Notably, the first cable-staying tensioning is scheduled to be implemented on August 30, 2025, a groundbreaking technical event for the project. Pier T39: Completed pouring block K6 and is continuing with block K7. Pier T40: Completed construction of pier shaft segment D6 and is continuing with segment D7. 3. “The progress of the Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang Expressway is accelerating, with Trungnam E&C achieving a breakthrough 39% completion, finishing the girder installation of Xang Lai Hieu Bridge, overcoming the ‘sand shortage’ to bring the project to fruition on schedule.” I. Project Overview The Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang Expressway (Phase 1) project is a strategic expressway connecting the Mekong Delta. Upon completion, it will reduce transportation time, boost logistics, and promote regional economic development. In the Hau Giang section, Trungnam E&C is undertaking many key construction items — the overall package progress in Hau Giang reached 39% as of August 2025. Total length: 188.2 km, passing through 4 provinces and cities: An Giang, Can Tho, Hau Giang, and Soc Trang. Scale: 4 lanes, design speed 100 km/h. Total investment: 44,700 billion VND. Commencement date: November 2023. Completion target: Expected to complete the entire route in 2026 and put into synchronous operation in 2027. The project is divided into 4 independent sub-projects, each managed by a local authority, ensuring coordination and specialization in implementation. II. Rapid Progress of Bridge Construction Items. Trungnam E&C is the leading contractor in the joint venture constructing Package No. 02 (section from Km113+200 – Km131+082) and Package No. 09 (section from Km131+300 – Km144+500) belonging to Sub-projects 3 and 4. With the spirit of “overcoming sun, winning rain” of the Trungnam E&C team, the work continues to blaze on the construction site. Main construction items of Trungnam E&C: Road section: Excavation of unsuitable soil. Sand embankment for service roads/temporary roads/main route. Weak ground treatment: CDM (Cement Deep Mixing)/PVD (prefabricated vertical drains) combined with preloading. Box culvert construction. Bridge section: Xang Nang Mau Bridge (XNM): Currently constructing cross beams, deck slabs. The Xang Lai Hieu Bridge, a key component of the Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang Expressway, is 500m long with a total investment of 160 billion VND. Girder installation is almost complete. I. Xang Lai Hieu Bridge: A “Breakthrough” Key Component on the Expressway 1. Location of Xang Lai Hieu Bridge The Xang Lai Hieu Bridge is being built at kilometer marker Km122+049.80 on the Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang Expressway. The bridge is 500m long with a total investment of 160 billion VND. The timely completion of the Xang Lai Hieu Bridge will significantly contribute to effectively connecting key areas of Hau Giang province with neighboring provinces, facilitating trade, goods transportation, and promoting local socio-economic development. 2. Xang Lai Hieu Bridge Girder Installation (August 2025) Construction progress in August 2025 has shown Trungnam E&C’s high level of focus to meet the set objectives. Girder Installation: The installation of Xang Lai Hieu Bridge girders is being urgently carried out, with 63 out of 84 girders installed (each weighing 80 tons), completing 9 out of a total of 12 bridge spans, further affirming the breakthrough effort. Crossbeam and Deck Slab Construction: In parallel with girder installation, Trungnam E&C is actively implementing the construction of crossbeams and deck slabs. These are important items to complete the superstructure, creating the road surface for vehicles. T5, T6 Pier Cap Construction: The construction of T5 and T6 pier caps has been actively implemented, creating a solid foundation for girder installation. Other Items: In addition, roadbed construction, soft soil treatment using CDM piles and wick drains, and culvert construction are also being carried out in the Km120+200-Km122+580 area.
