The Phuoc An Bridge project reaches a significant milestone: successfully installed 4 cable stays at T38 tower in November 2025, exceeding the timeline by 6 months, on track to achieve technical operation by the end of 2026.
Scale of the “Super Project” Phuoc An Bridge
The Phuoc An Bridge project commenced in June 2023 with a total investment of approximately 4,900 trillion VND:
• Location: Phu My (HCMC) ↔ Nhon Trach (Dong Nai)
• Type: Modern Extradosed cable-stayed bridge, the most advanced of its kind, with a main span of 250m
• Clearance: 55m height, ensuring vessels with 30,000 DWT capacity can operate smoothly on Thi Vai River
• Scale: 4.38km long (main bridge 3.5km), 6 lanes, speed limit 70km/h
• Progress: 6 months ahead of schedule
• Contractor: Trungnam E&C – Bac Trung Nam construction consortium building main tower T38
• Expected operation: End of 2026
This project helps shorten the distance from the Cai Mep – Thi Vai port area to the Ben Luc – Long Thanh expressway by approximately 30 km, reducing traffic pressure on National Highway 51 and boosting logistics capabilities in the strategic southern economic region.

Construction Progress at T38 Tower in November
The project management board of the Transportation Sector and the Department of Agriculture in Ba Ria – Vung Tau reported that construction activities at the Phuoc An Bridge are progressing urgently 24/7. The most notable achievement in November 2025 was the successful installation of 4 cable bundles at the main T38 tower by the Trungnam E&C – Bac Trung Nam consortium.
Completing 4 cable bundles in just over 2 months since the first cable installation on September 4, 2025, demonstrates the contractor’s superior construction capabilities. The construction team is carefully preparing plans to install the next cable bundles in Q4 2025.

Economic and Social Benefits of the Region
When completed, the Phuoc An Bridge will not only be a technical marvel but also a driving force for regional economic development. The bridge will directly connect the Cai Mep – Thi Vai port cluster (top 10 largest container ports in the world) with the expressway system, supporting rapid freight transportation and reducing logistics costs by 20-30%. This will boost industrial zones in Nhon Trach (Dong Nai) and Phu My (HCMC), create jobs for thousands of workers, and contribute to economic growth targets for the Southeast region.
With active construction progress from Trungnam E&C and the contractor consortium, the Phuoc An Bridge is on track to become one of Vietnam’s iconic transportation infrastructure projects. All parties remain committed to close coordination to overcome challenges during the rainy season, aiming for technical operation by the end of 2026. This is not just a transportation link but also a bridge connecting the region’s sustainable development future.
