(CAO) The Scientific Council of Vietnam Energy Magazine has just announced the VCE 10 rankings, based on independent assessments from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Vietnam Energy Association. Accordingly, Trungnam Group is the No. 1 investor in the clean energy sector in Vietnam.
The VCE 10 ranking (Top 10 Leading Clean Energy Enterprises in Vietnam 2019) is based on the results of independent research and evaluation by scientists from the database of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, EVN, VEA, VER and information compiled based on the actual results of enterprises and investors announced to participate in clean energy investment in Vietnam today.
Trung Nam Group was honored as the No. 1 investor in clean energy in Vietnam
The evaluation criteria of the VCE 10 Ranking are based on (1) the scale of investment in renewable energy sources, (2) updating clean energy trends in the world, (3) technology, equipment, (4) factors that determine the development of renewable energy, (5) the speed of investment in clean energy project development, (6) the responsibility of enterprises to society…
As a result, Trung Nam Construction Investment Joint Stock Company (Trungnam Group) was honored as the No. 1 investor in clean energy in Vietnam. Next are other enterprises such as Dau Tieng Energy Joint Stock Company; Truong Thanh Vietnam Group Joint Stock Company (TTVN Group); TTC Group; Bim Group; Trade and Construction Joint Stock Corporation (Vietracimex); Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN)…
2019 is considered a year of explosive development of clean energy in Vietnam
2019 is considered a year of explosive development of the renewable energy industry (RE), mainly wind power and solar power, thanks to preferential policies of the Vietnamese Government. The result is a recognition of the contributions of businesses operating in the energy sector, especially towards environmentally friendly energy, contributing to the economic and social development of Vietnam.
As of June 2019, the whole country had 98 renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 4,880MW put into operation, accounting for nearly 9% of the total power capacity of the country; of which, there are 89 solar power plants with a total capacity of nearly 4,440MW.
According to experts, Vietnam has great potential for renewable energy. In addition to large and medium-sized hydropower plants that have been developed for many years, there is currently a total power generation capacity of over 19,000MW and over 3,300MW of capacity from small hydropower plants. Up to now, the remaining hydropower potential is not much (about less than 1,000 MW of medium-sized hydropower plants and over 3,000 small hydropower plants – under 30 MW).
However, the potential for solar and wind power from many survey and assessment sources is very large. The estimated technical potential of solar power is about 330MWp and wind power from 27,000 – 140,000 MW.
With the policy of promoting the development of renewable energy, the Vietnamese Government has had many policies to encourage renewable energy sources through “avoided cost” mechanisms, Feed-in-tariff mechanisms, net metering… for hydropower, biomass power, wind power, and solar power sources. Thanks to that, in recent years, many state and private investors at home and abroad have promoted the construction of many projects, rapidly increasing the proportion of renewable energy sources.
Trungnam Group is the investor in the construction of the Trung Nam Solar and Wind Power Renewable Energy Farm Complex in Bac Phong and Loi Hai communes, Thuan Bac district, Ninh Thuan province with a capacity of 204 MW of solar power and 151.95 MW of wind power connected to the grid in 2019. The total annual output of Trung Nam Wind Power – Solar Power is estimated to reach 1.2 billion kWh of electricity per year, including the farm complex (wind power + solar power) + Trung Nam Tra Vinh solar power plant.
