On January 7, in Bac Phong commune, Thuan Bac district (Ninh Thuan), Trung Nam Construction Investment Joint Stock Company (a member of Trungnam Group) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Trung Nam Solar Power Plant Project with a total capacity of 204MW, with a total investment of nearly 5 trillion VND.
The project is built on an area of nearly 300 hectares. Trung Nam Solar Power Plant will install nearly 706 thousand solar panels (356Wp-72Cell- Mono & Dual); 45 Inverter sets (4.45MW); 45 Inverter transformers; two 220kV step-up transformer stations… supplied by the world’s leading corporations in the production of modern technological equipment for solar power development in Germany.
It is expected that in June 2019, the plant will be completed, put into operation, connected to the national grid and provide an electricity output of 450 million kWh/year. Up to this point, this is the largest solar power plant in the country.
According to the assessment of the investor Trung Nam Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, Ninh Thuan has many advantages to develop renewable energy from wind and solar; The average direct solar radiation rate is always higher than 4.5kWh/m2, combined with an average of more than 7.5 hours of sunshine per day (over 2,837 hours of sunshine per year), so Ninh Thuan will become a potential area for exploiting solar power in the future. Up to now, Ninh Thuan has started construction on four solar power plant projects.
